Artist talk and artist studio tour offered 10/22/22 at 9am and 1pm. Sign up will be on the registration form. No extra cost. Come meet Cynthia Weitzel visual artist, and leader of “The Anderson Center’s Deaf Artist Residency (DAR) is the only residency opportunity in the world devoted exclusively to Deaf artists.... Weitzel maintains year-round studio space at the Anderson Center. Her most striking paintings are abstract expressionist works she creates with the paint cast off her fingers as she signs, a dynamic process she calls ‘ASL action painting.’ “ Learn more about Cynthia, her art, process, the DAR Residency, and get to tour her studio at The Anderson Center! |
Glass Artist Gail Dahlberg
Glass workshop offered 10/22/22 from 9am-1pm. Sign up will be on the registration form. Cost $130 Photo credit- Chap Achen Gail Dahlberg's practice centers on teaching others the process of gathering, marvering, blocking and blowing molten glass. He earned an MFA from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, and previously taught in Illinois public schools where he developed a Young Artist studio glass program. |

What does it mean, and what does it take, to belong to a place? What are the rights and responsibilities that come with being part of a community? How can we create spaces where all of us feel valued? These are some of the questions that artist Cecilia Cornejo explores with her ongoing multimedia project, The Wandering House, that she is bringing to Red Wing October 3 -31! |

The Anderson Center invites community members of all ages to participate in an Open Studio with artist-in-residence Cole Redhorse Jacobson in the North Studios at Tower View on Saturday, October 22 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Come meet the artist and learn more about his practice & current projects! Cole’s Open Studio is happening in conjunction with other activity at the Anderson Center, including an installation of Cecilia Cornejo’s Wandering House and a site visit by MN & WI Art Educators as part of their Fall Conference. |
